The project “Feel the taste of Zdolbuniv region”

лого-03.png

What is it?

"Taste the Zdolbuniv Region" is a unique cultural and gastronomic initiative that combines local history, traditions and gastronomy to support community development. We are exploring the Czech culinary heritage of Zdolbuniv district and turning it into a tool for engaging the community in preserving the cultural space.

How does it work?

1. Restoring historical recipes

We have found and recreated two traditional desserts that symbolize Zdolbuniv's Czech heritage:

Koláčy, a traditional pastry with poppy seeds, cheese, or fruit surrounded by flaky dough. Kolaches can be either small portions or large sheets with a filling that can be sweet or savory.

Bublanina is a Czech coffee cake with seasonal berries, popular in Prague families. This versatile dessert varies depending on the fruit available and requires no special equipment. Bublanina is a summer classic in the Czech Republic and is especially popular for afternoon coffee.

2. Cooking videos and stories

We have created a series of videos where we prepare these desserts together with a local chef, telling their story and cultural context.Watch the video: [YouTube]

 3. Collaboration with local coffee shops

Local coffee shops and bakeries prepare these desserts using original recipes. Part of the profits from the sales are used to finance the Open Attic project, a new cultural space in Zdolbuniv.
